Journeyman is a service operated by Shukti Media LLC (“Journeyman,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use journeymanpay.com and what we do with it. Questions or requests? Email shailenshukti@gmail.com.
When you submit your pay, we collect exactly what you type into the form: your trade, specialization, city, state, years of experience, pay structure, rate, employer type, and certifications. Email is optional — if you skip it, we have no way to identify you at all. If you join the waitlist, we collect only your email.
We don't use cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics. We don't track you across the web, and we don't build a profile of your browsing. The only data we hold is what you choose to type into a form.
Submissions are anonymous by default. Pay data is only ever shown in aggregate — grouped by trade, city, and experience level — and only once a group contains enough submissions that no single entry can be singled out. We never publish an individual submission. In plain terms: we design the public data so it can't be traced back to you, and your boss, coworkers, and employer have no way to know you submitted.
One thing: build the pay index. Your submission gets aggregated with others to show real market rates for the trades. If you gave us your email, we use it only to tell you when data goes live in your city and about your Journeyman profile — nothing else.
Your data is stored encrypted in private cloud storage hosted by Vercel (US-based), and a copy is written to a private Google Workspace spreadsheet (Google LLC, US-based) that only the Journeyman team can access. These are our two service providers; they process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. Neither store is publicly accessible.
We never sell your email or an identifiable individual submission to advertisers or data brokers. Two things worth being straight about, because they're core to how Journeyman works:
And the ordinary exception every company has: if Shukti Media LLC is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, data may transfer to the successor, who would remain bound by a policy at least as protective as this one. We'll post notice here before that happens.
Submissions are retained as part of the pay index for as long as the index exists, since removing them would degrade the data everyone relies on. Waitlist emails are kept until you ask us to remove them or the service shuts down.
Depending on where you live (including California, and other US states with privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To make a request, email shailenshukti@gmail.comfrom the address tied to your submission or waitlist signup. One honest limit: if you submitted a pay entry fully anonymously (no email), we can't identify which entry is yours — that's the flip side of true anonymity, and we can't delete what we can't link to you.
Journeyman is intended for working adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor submitted information, email us and we'll remove it.
If we update this policy, we'll change the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, post a notice on the site. Continuing to use Journeyman after an update means you accept the revised policy.
